About Crabtree Cricket Club

CDCC was formed in the mid 1990's by John Smith. Disaffected parents of Crabtree School had no cricket, and they wanted some!

Members come and go, some just come, we now have former pupils of Crabtree School turning our for us regularly.

The name was changed from Crabtree Dads Cricket Club to plain old Crabtree Cricket Club in the winter of 2002, in order to more accurately reflect the membership. Sure many of us are Crabtree Dads, but there are also Mums, friends of Parents and former pupils turning out regularly.

We do not currently play league cricket, but there is an informal league operating in the St Albans Harpenden area, mostly schools teams, but we also have regularly fixtures against other clubs.

Our summer fixtures are played in and around Harpenden and we compete in an indoor league during the winter in Redbourn.

How to get involved

Crabtree CC always welcome new players to the team. To qualify for membership, all we ask is that you are one of the following:

  • A parent of a pupil at Crabtree School
  • A former parent of a pupil at Crabtree School
  • A former pupil from Crabtree School

A small membership fee is applicable for all members and match fees are usually taken for all home matches. Don't worry too much if you don't have all your own kit - Crabtree CC has bats, pads and gloves (we suggest you bring your own box!!).
